I really don't have much work to do these days and, honestly, I feel awful. I feel as if the days pass by and ... I just didn't do anything to deserve my bread.

I have this nephew, who is 11, almost, who likes to call me ... ugh... "aunt ... (insert stupid legal name". His father taught him to, and I have told them both that I don't like to be called that. Not only that they keep asking me with every occasion why I don't like it. I'm out to my brother, but I guess he doesn't make the connection with it. And I really am not in the mood to tell him again, because he was one of those people that told me, when I came out to him, that this is not a real problem, and started to find excuses to it, like "Your father always wanted boys and that's what influenced you...". And when I said my father never acted like it, he hasn't even let out to us something like that, my brother's answer was "Yes, but he might have acted unconsciously." D'uh! So, it feels kind of bad to have to restart the discussion and give him the real reason I hate to be called that way. As for my nephew, getting back to where I started, ... not only that he keeps asking me why I don't like to be called that way, but he pretends to have forgot or starts the first letters and then says "I know you don't like it". Yes, that's an 11 years old child. (And he seems to inherit that sort of cruelty of saying exactly the stuff that they know people don't like to hear or people are hurt when that's told to them).

I'm sorry to read that you had such unpleasant experiences that way. It made me remember a scene, where I once played with the daughter of a friend. She was just 4 years old or so, and kept asking her mom (that friend I am talking of) why she refers to me as "her". Hmmm... I forgot how she explained it to the girl... Well, I just wanted to share that.

Thanx for sharing. It's not painful, it's rather annoying. I would understand if they would do it by ignorance, but it;s not that. Oh well.
